When will I get my return back?
From 1 July 2012, the ATO will aim to finalise individual electronic current year tax returns within 12 business days of receipt. However, tax returns can take up to 30 days to come back. You can check the progress of your return by logging in to your myGov account or downloading the ATO app. Please do not contact Easy Return if it has been less than 30 days since your tax return was lodged, as there is no action we can take until after this point.
It has been more than 30 days, and I still haven't received my refund - where is it?
If your return is delayed, it may be for a number of reasons. Some of the most common reasons are:
In the unlikely event that your refund has not been transferred to you within 30 days. You can either contact the ATO yourself, or contact us, and we can lodge an "escalation request" on your behalf. The ATO guarantees a turn around time of within 14 days after the lodgement of an escalation. (Please note, an escalation request can only be made after 30 days has passed.)
Can my family member/friend/neighbour do their tax at the same time?
Yes, provided you make us aware of this at the time of booking so we can allow enough time between your appointment and the booking following, and are aware and agree to our payment terms.
Will I get a discount if I have multiple years, or multiple people at the one appointment time?
Generally yes, we will provide a discount depending on the number of people, the number of years, and the complexity of the jobs involved. Please enquire about this at the time of booking to avoid disappointment.
The ATO or Centrelink are requesting I lodge a Tax Return, but I haven't earned any income, what should I do?
If you have genuinely not earned income and you are asked to lodge a tax return or provide proof you have not earned income, we are able to lodge a 'Return not necessary' form on your behalf. Our standard fee for this is $55.
How much do you charge?
This depends on the service you require. Please refer to our standard price list in the pricing tab of this web page for an estimation of our standard prices.
I don't live locally any more - can I still use you to do my Tax?
Yes, if you wish to do so, we are more than happy to accommodate clients who are not local, via mail, email and/or telephone interview. Please contact us to discuss how best to accommodate your needs.
Can you give me financial advice on Investing, Business Opportunities Etc?
We can provide you with the tax implications of any course of action you wish to pursue, and any compliance issues and setup involved. However, we are not licensed to provide Financial Advice, and can refer you to a Financial Advisor if you would like or need Financial Advice.
What methods of payment do you offer? What are your payment terms?
We require payment at the completion of your job. You can pay by Cash, Credit Card or Bank Transfer.

- you have recently lodged returns for previous years, either on their own or with the current year's tax return
- you currently have a debt with the ATO
- you are under an Insolvency administration eg bankruptcy or debt arrangement
- the ATO need to check information with other Australian Government agencies such as the Department of Human Services or Child Support Agency.
